Life Class

Life Class

These are some of my studies from life class during the first and second year. i have experimented with different techniques including bringing my specialist area of textiles into a final piece.

For my final piece i was inspired by Rosie James, she layer silhouettes of wallpapers and found materials then adds the detail in afterwards by machine stitching the same person on top. I enjoyed creating this because i could work with textiles and i felt Rosie James techniques were easy to recreate and take inspiration from in the future.

To begin my studies i created a mood board of layered drawings in different colour fine writers to represent the different coloured threads id be using in my final piece. I also feel that using coloured fine writers helped me and other people viewing my work visualise the layering techniques used.

These are my favourite studies from the first year of life class, i feel it captures my life class drawings in its peek, as they are accurate and in proportion, also shown tone. I particularly like the 3D form drawing because it helped my to get the shape of the tone properly using basic shapes.
